Tuition Equity - Deferred Action, DACA, or Undocumented Citizenship Status

Oregon Tech welcomes students from all backgrounds. The Oregon Tuition Equity Act allows students who are not citizens or permanent residents of the United States to pay reduced tuition and fees at an Oregon public university under certain conditions. To determine if you may benefit from the Oregon Tuition Equity Act, please answer the question below. If you answer “yes”, please submit the Tuition Equity Form to be considered for reduced tuition.

The collected data is only visible to staff members of the Oregon Tech Admissions Office, Registrar’s Office, Business Office, and Institutional Research and are used internally to determine tuition and fees, create bills, and create reports for University leadership and state agencies. Faculty, students, and staff outside of the listed departments are unable to see a student’s documentation status.

Oregon Tech is also required to share data on current students with the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC), a volunteer-based state agency whose vision is that of a future where all Oregonians- and especially those whom our systems have underserved and marginalized- benefit from the transformational power of high-quality post-secondary education and training. This data sharing includes documentation status and national citizenship, and is used by the HECC to guide Oregon public university response to the needs of students, ensure equity, and guide policy.
